Workshop – Botanical Wax Sachet

Concrete held our first concrete class workshop with Kaminari. Kaminari is a lifestyle brand based in Indonesia founded by designer Vina Kosasih. Launched in 2015, the studio has been focusing on designing and handcrafting candles and waxworks.

All Kaminari candles carry unique personalities that set them apart from others in the market. They are designed with thoughtfulness as to how customers can play with and experience a unique aesthetic and olfactory pleasure through wax works. The traditional function of a candle (light, aroma, celebratory, ritual) is respected, while designing candles to fit into urban living.

During this workshop our teacher Vina teach our participants the steps of making a botanical sachet step-by-step. Each participants will be making 2 types of botanical wax sachet (rectangle shaped, circular shapes). Kaminari Wax sachet basic ingredients are dried flower, oil essence, wax as the base.

Dried flower corner, where they can choose the type of flower they would like to use on their creation.

Once participants choose the type of dried flowers they would like to use, they then elegantly placed small little details of these dried flowers, based on their own preference and likes, onto the paper layout that our teacher Vina had provide.

Once participants had finalized their layout, they get to choose the type of wax based they would like to make (white, pink, soft blue, yellow). With the help of the workshop coordinator, each wax are then melted using double boiling method on a stove.
